Weekend Box Office Results
Once again The Hunger Games came out on top in the weekend box office report making $33.1 million. The film, based off of the popular novel, has now made over $300 million at the box office and is the seventh-fastest to reach that mark. The only two non-sequel films to reach the mark faster are the James Cameron films, Avatar and Titanic. Coming in second place over the weekend was American Reunion, the fourth film in the original American Pie storyline. The film earned a modest $21.5 million over the weekend, however, that figure is lower than the previous two installments opening weekends. Titanic 3D came in third over the weekend making $17.3 million. Rounding out the top five of the weekend were Wrath of the Titans and Mirror Mirror, taking in $14.7 million and $11.1 million respectively:
