Wii U Price, Models, and Release Date Announced!
During Nintendo’s Special Wii U event this morning the console’s release date and price have been fixed. We can all expect to plug in an awkward peripheral to our newest Nintendo system on November 18, 2012!
Along with announcing the official release date Nintendo showed off two particular models of the Wii U. The first is the White Basic Set. This console comes with the bare bones: and 8 GB hard drive, Wii U GamePad, Stylus, and sensor bar. The system also comes with an HDMI cable (thank god it’s in HD). The Basic Set will be $299.99 at launch and probably $250 if you give it 3 months.
The second edition is the Deluxe Set. It features a Black Wii U, Black GamePad, Sensor, and HDMI cable like the standard. With the Deluxe Set you’ll also get Nintendo Land, Wii U stand, GamePad Stand, and GamePad cradle. There’s also an online incentive package you get called the Deluxe Digital Promotion: this program gives you points for ever digital item you purchase and these points can be redeemed for exclusive content down the line. This edition will cost $349.99 on launch. Give it 3 months and it’ll probably end up being $300.
